Specialties from the countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea are featured, enhanced by the best ingredients available, whether imported or locally harvested. The best olive oils are used, Italian, Spanish or Greek. Cheeses, meats, sea foods come from many different parts of the world. Game dishes such as venison and antelope come from Texas or New Zealand, wild boar, pheasants and quails from northern California, all are now on the fall season menu. Granted, we might have over-passed the borders of the Mediterranean in gathering these special items, but by preparing them with imagination using locally grown (some in our own garden) herbs and unusual produce and fruit, the flavors bring you back within the intended boundaries.

  • You will also be able to select from an array of wines from California, France, Italy, Spain & Portugal for a four-star wine list. You will be transported from within a few miles of the heart of Los Angeles to a very realistic feeling of being somewhere on the French or Italian Riviera, or even with a little imagination on some Hellenic island.

  • It is all here, the abundance of flowers and plants within the well-sheltered patio with the bubbling fountain, the casual, rustic, well-appointed comfortable interiors, the large bay windows with the blue waters across the way - except that it is the Pacific ocean substituting for the blue Mediterranean Sea…Even the crickets singing in the warm evening.

  • Daniel and Luciana Forge, respectively from France and Italy, are no substitution for authenticity. Daniel owned a hotel in Nice with his brother, and Luciana was a professional opera singer from Rome and she may even stop you momentarily from eating your dinner if you are fortunate enough some evening when she is in the mood for a classical aria. There is dinner music every evening, piano, classic guitar also on Sunday for Champagne Brunch.
